The South Dakota Office of the Attorney General and Division of Criminal Investigation has three part-time positions for a Sex Offender Compliance Specialist. Responsibilities associated with this position include:
- Coordinate information collection for non-compliant sex offenders with the SD State Sex Offender Registry staff, local law enforcement agencies, and the South Dakota U.S. Marshal's office.
- Coordinate DNA collection efforts with sex offenders in accordance to applicable statutes in SDCL 23-5A , DNA Samples.
- Support and collaborate with the Sex Offender Compliance Coordinator.
- Consult with the South Dakota Forensic Laboratory Director regularly to ensure compliance with agency needs, policies, and regulations.
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
- a bachelor's degree in a criminal justice related field and or equivalent experience working with or in law enforcement;
- expert knowledge of the law enforcement procedures in South Dakota;
- expert knowledge of all applicable statues in SDCL 22-24B, Sex Offender Registry, 23-5A DNA Samples;
- valid South Dakota Driver's License or ability to obtain one;
- ability to work remotely.

This position is exempt from the Civil Service Act.
This position is eligible for Veterans' Preference per ARSD 55:10:02:08.
