Job Summary:

The Human Services Center is recruiting for an assistant to the Purchasing Manager. This person specializes in routine supply/equipment purchases and tracking of inventory. This position will help process internal supply orders and deliver those supplies in a timely manner. The desired candidate possesses a commitment to service, attention to detail, and dedication to program integrity.

Working Conditions:

Works in a typical warehouse environment. Some duties are performed in an unheated/uncooled warehouse and outside in adverse weather conditions. The incumbent will frequently lift 50 to 100 pounds and deliver carts/platform trucks weighted down with supplies throughout the hospital.

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

Knowledge of:

  • purchase orders, invoices, requisitions and vouchers;
  • warehouse and inventory procedures;
  • computers and software such as Microsoft Office and EZ Office.


Skill to:

  • operate a pallet jack;
  • load carts/platform trucks;
  • operate a delivery van.


Ability to:

  • work independently;
  • follow written and verbal instructions;
  • establish effective working relationships with vendors, HSC staff, and the public;
  • repeatedly lift 50 to 100 pounds.


Additional Requirements: To be considered, applicant must have valid driver's license.

This position is eligible for Veterans' Preference per ARSD 55:10:02:08.
