The Division of Finance is looking for an articulate professional who is organized, energetic, motivated and dependable. This individual must be driven by our vision to build Strong Families, South Dakota's Foundation and Our Future.
This position leads and manages the work of a team of auditors for the Department of Social Services Provider Reimbursement and Audits. The office conducts external reviews of agencies that provide services for the Department to ensure compliance of Federal and State rules and regulations. The office also conducts internal reviews to ensure DSS programs are in compliance with program requirements and State and Federal rules and regulations. This position assists in the rate-setting process for the Finance Office, determines allowable costs for rate setting and oversees cost report reviews. The position contributes to the annual rate workgroup team in reviewing methodologies, providing recommendations and working with 3rd party stakeholders.
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting/Business Administration or related field is preferred. Three years of relevant experience in business, accounting and/or auditing.
- monitoring and auditing processes and Generally Accepted Accounting/Auditing standards.
Lead team in reviews of external agencies and internal programs, assist in rate-setting processes, develop and execute annual work plan for team, conduct data collection and analysis; computer proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint software programs; work well both independently and as part of a team; organize, lead and facilitate project-related meetings.
Provide work direction to both direct reports and other team members to carry out various activities to support the finance office, analyze the impact (both financial and programmatic) of policy changes. Develop and evaluate program cost and statistical information, gather and analyze data, reason logically, and solve problems using common sense and resourcefulness; interact confidently and appropriately with a variety of stakeholders and coworkers; communicate clear and concise information, both orally and in writing; establish and maintain effective working relationships; prepare clear and concise documentation, reports and correspondence; independently and effectively plan and organize time and prioritize task completion to meet deadlines; understand, interpret, and apply regulations, policies and procedures; and confidently make decisions and assume accountability for actions and results.
