GFP Intern - Wildlife Habitat Management (Summer)

*APPLICANT MUST BE A FULL-TIME STUDENT (MINIMUM OF 12 CREDIT HOURS) IN THE SEMESTER IN WHICH YOU APPLY.
Position Description: The intern's primary duty will be to assist the department's noxious weed control program, including herbicide application as well as the required herbicide application data entry. The intern may assist Region II staff with miscellaneous projects, including but not limited to, posting of signs, mowing trails and parking areas, fencing and miscellaneous wildlife habitat projects. Assistance with other division section (Fisheries, Wildlife, Law Enforcement and Animal Damage Control) projects will be encouraged, as time and opportunity permit.
Applicant must be a full-time student at a college, university or technical institute at the time they apply. By the start of the internship, the applicant should have at least a sophomore standing or currently be enrolled at a technical institute and have completed one year (nine months).
Preference will be given to South Dakota residents and students of South Dakota institutions.
Applicants should have general knowledge of South Dakota's noxious weed control program and ATV/UTV experience.
Minimum Salary: $15.76
