Position Description: Intern will be working with volunteers, full time, and seasonal staff in all aspects of the operations and maintenance of Pelican Lake Recreation Area. Essential duties may include, but are not limited to, the following: public relations and park rule enforcement, permits sales and auditing, fee collection, data collection for end of the month reports, operation of mowers, operation of hand and power tools, assisting with special event planning and programing, and assisting Naturalist with programming. Intern will assist in facility and grounds maintenance projects, maintenance of equipment, facility sanitation, and administrative duties. Seasonal housing is available on site.
Qualifications : Applicant must be a full-time student at a college, university or technical institute at the time they apply. By the start of the internship, the applicant should have at least a sophomore standing or currently be enrolled at a technical institute and have completed one year (nine months).
Preference will be given to South Dakota residents and students of South Dakota institutions.
Minimum Salary: $17.19
