* APPLICANT MUST BE A FULL-TIME STUDENT (MINIMUM OF 12 CREDIT HOURS) IN THE SEMESTER IN WHICH YOU APPLY.
Position Description: Intern will be responsible for directing and working with volunteers, full time and seasonal staff in all aspects of the operations and maintenance of a State Park or Recreation Area and other areas as assigned. Essential duties may include, but are not limited to the following: public relations, permit sales, fee collection, data collection for end of month reports, directing and assisting the park naturalist's in programming, operation of tractors, mowers, and hand and power tools. Assist in landscaping projects, maintenance of equipment and facilitates, facility sanitation, and administrative duties. Administrative duties may include but are not limited to the following: cash drawer management, deposits, staff scheduling, report writing, and supply ordering.
Qualifications: Applicant must be a full-time student at a college, university or technical institute at the time they apply. By the start of the internship, the applicant should have at least a sophomore standing or currently be enrolled at a technical institute and have completed one year (nine months).
Preference will be given to South Dakota residents and students of South Dakota institutions.
Minimum Salary: $17.19
