GFP Intern - Conservation Technician (Summer)

* APPLICANT MUST BE A FULL-TIME STUDENT (MINIMUM OF 12 CREDIT HOURS) IN THE SEMESTER IN WHICH YOU APPLY.
Position Description: Assists in the maintenance and improvement of Park and Wildlife Division owned Parks and Public Water Access areas throughout northeastern South Dakota. Primary duties include access area maintenance related to spraying noxious weed, tree maintenance, dock and boat ramp repair, informational signage, and improving and developing shoreline fishing access. The intern will also learn to operate equipment such as mowers, tractors, skid loaders, ATV's, weed sprayers, road groomers, and trucks pulling trailers with heavy loads.
Qualifications: Applicant must be a full-time student at a college, university or technical institute at the time they apply. By the start of the internship, the applicant should have at least a sophomore standing or currently be enrolled at a technical institute and have completed one year (nine months).
Preference will be given to South Dakota residents and students of South Dakota institutions.
Minimum Salary: $14.69
