DOT Intern - Pavement Management Engineer (Summer)

Position Description: The interns will participate in conducting distress surveys to identify and quantify distress on various types of highway pavements. This is accomplished by going onsite to survey pre-determined segments of state highways. Two of the interns will travel regularly to collect the data. The traveling positions require driving throughout the state, overnight stays and typically work four day weeks. The third intern will work primarily in the office reviewing the data collected and will be back up for the survey team and occasionally be required to travel. Remote work is negotiable for the office intern while reviewing the data collected.
Qualifications : Applicant must be a full-time student at a college, university or technical institute at the time they apply. By the start of the internship, the applicant should have at least a sophomore standing or currently be enrolled at a technical institute and have completed one year (nine months).
Preference will be given to South Dakota residents and students of South Dakota institutions.
Minimum Salary: $16.89-$20.70
