This position provides maintenance for the following aspects: fixture installation and repair, irrigation system, waste system, heating and cooling systems that are integral components of the building automation system, pool, whirlpool tubs, an assortment of food service appliances, and any other duties as assigned.Will prioritize work orders to ensure the needs of hospital operations are met in a timely fashion, with as little inconvenience to the staff and patients as necessary, estimate material costs and quantities for repair and remodel projects to ensure fiscal responsibility and necessity, maintain an inventory of materials needed to have on hand to include fittings, pipe, replacement fixtures, sprinkler heads and other components, steam traps, sensors, gages, etc, troubleshoot deficiencies through complex systems that have been updated, replaced, or discontinued throughout years using previous blueprints, provide input and needed overwatch of contracted construction projects to ensure contractors are meeting codes and ensuring proper maintenance can be conducted upon completion of construction and remodel projects, and provide an atmosphere of professionalism and care to ensure patients receive can utilize the amenities provided at all times.
Licenses and Certifications:
None required, special consideration will be given to applicants who possess a Journeyman, Contractor, or any of the Specialty licenses.
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
Experience in the plumbing trade, in both new construction and remodeling.
Knowledge of:
- computers and related software programs;
- blueprints and schematic design;
- water softners;
- hydronic boilers;
- water heaters;
- arious water systems.
Skill to:
- read blueprints and troubleshoot issues within a plumbing system;
- work both independently and as a team;
- complete scheduled inspections;
- assist other trades as the need arises.
Ability to:
- work with other outside of the department for scheduling purposes;
- troubleshoot complex systems on campus;
- work with vendors for ordering and scheduling of services;
- work with other trades within the Physical Plant to provide services for the hospital.
