Our staff are the foundation of our Department. As a member of the Department's Division of Finance, you will assist programs to provide cost effective and accountable services and be part of a team with a family-friendly employer.
This position reports to the Department's Audit and Internal Control manager. The Accountant II is responsible for, but not limited to, timestudy analysis, cost allocations, and fiscal impact statements. The Accountant II approves payments to vendors and travel reimbursements for the DOH. This position is a team lead to the accounting assistant and works with department staff with payment inquiries. The Accountant level will be determined based on the experience of the applicant.
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
Bachelor's degree with emphasis in accounting, or 5 or more years of related accounting experience.
- the principles and practices of fiscal management and budgetary control;
- generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP), standards, and practices;
- statistics and financial reporting;
- Microsoft applications including Excel, Word, and Query;
- state accounting system;
- purchasing policies and procedures.

- make timely and accurate decisions.
- organize and oversee multiple requests and tasks on a daily basis;
- provide technical assistance to department staff;
- communicate information clearly and concisely;
- establish and maintain effective working relationship with others;
- interpret rules and regulations;
- follow established procedures.
